These settings work in Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird, the Gmail app and other email apps. Use your own domain in place of yourdomain.co.uk.
| Incoming (IMAP) | Outgoing (SMTP) | |
|---|---|---|
| Server | mail.yourdomain.co.uk | mail.yourdomain.co.uk |
| Port | 993 | 465 |
| Security | SSL/TLS | SSL/TLS |
| Username | Your full email address | |
| Password | That mailbox’s password | |
Outgoing mail needs authentication: switch it on and use the same username and password. If your network blocks port 465, use port 587 with STARTTLS.
Prefer POP3? Use port 995 with SSL/TLS. IMAP is the better choice if you read email on more than one device, because it keeps them in step.
The exact settings for your mailbox
In cPanel, open Email Accounts and press Connect Devices next to the mailbox. It shows the settings for that mailbox, and offers automatic set-up files for Apple Mail and iPhone. If your app warns that the certificate doesn’t match the server name, use the secure server name shown there instead.
Forgotten a mailbox password? Change it in cPanel under Email Accounts › Manage.
